Running is a sport for the loner. Getting out there all on your own can be cathartic, but for some it is hard to understand. To me it is normally a chance for meditation and solitude, exercise for the mind as well as the body.
Today will not be about that, today I will be running with hundreds. This is about a community gathering, each for their own reasons. Some for charity, some for their children, for others it will be the culmination of a goal.
That was the case for me last year, but today is about seeing progress. What a difference a year makes, well we will see. Last year I was nervous, this I am excited. It is no longer a step into the unknown, now it is a welcome friend returning after too long an absence.

Best of luck. My brother is an excellent runner. I prefer hiking, each is a positive and productive life style.
